Robots in Gastronomy: A Field Report From a Vienna Restaurant
A restaurant in Vienna's 7th district tested our LuckiBot Pro for a week during regular service. We were curious, and the results were mixed but instructive.
What Worked Well
The robot reliably delivered drinks and small dishes to tables. Staff could focus more on advice and personal interaction. Especially during lunchtime rushes, it was a genuine help.
What Worked Less Well
In the narrow space between bar and kitchen, the robot occasionally struggled. Two chairs sticking out into the aisle stopped it regularly. After rearranging the tables, things ran much more smoothly.
Guest Feedback
Most guests found the robot entertaining. A few regulars were sceptical at first, but after a couple of days it felt "normal" to everyone. The restaurant owner has since signed a permanent rental agreement.
